Vehicle Assembly Technician / Bodywork Expert

Overview

Vehicle Technician with proven experiences and special expertise in Bodywork and Paint that can work independently and perform assembly and installation mainly of painted bodywork as well as components, systems and complete car assemblies, functional tests and assurance of quality conformance to high level company requirements, standards and specifications. Responsible for adjustment and alignment of body panels, assuring function, safety and final quality acceptance of installations, structures, components and controls till release of vehicle.

Tasks/ Responsibilities

  • Assemble components, systems, pre-assemblies and complete performance vehicles
  • Adjustment and alignment of body panels
  • Undertake spot repairs
  • Work according to build manuals, technical drawings, quality procedures, work instructions, specifications and verbal instructions in between time targets
  • Use correct tools, jigs, measurement devices and fixtures
  • Perform dimensional, functional and safety checks
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation and records
  • Adhere to all applicable health and safety as operational procedures and directives
  • Assist other assemblers according to instructions and requirements
  • Bring to the attention of supervision all malfunctions, defects and damages of equipment, material and product
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Perform end of line/ assembly checks and produce accompanying documentation for hand over to drive and vehicle sales team

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Min. of 3-5 years of proven experience as technician/ mechanic/ bodywork expert
  • Experience in Automotive Industry, Motorsport or High End specialist market preferred
  • Experience in adjustment, alignment and assembly of body panels
  • Ability to finish identify spot repairs
  • Widespread knowledge in vehicle components, technologies, systems such as engines, gearboxes, suspensions, automotive fluid systems, electrical and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of common assembly, testing and quality assurance practices
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and in a team
  • Able to work goal-oriented and to strict time targets
  • Administrative skills to prepare and maintain documentation and quality records
  • Computer skills adequate to access electronic work instructions and enter data for documentation and quality records

Quality Engineer

Overview

Quality Engineer with diversified knowledge and proven experiences and references that can work independently and take responsibility in defining Quality Check Control processes and documentation and Quality Control and Assurance for all parts, components and systems. Experienced in coordinating the implementation of QC/QA systems to ensure that adequate procedures and systems are in place and all parts are made and assembled consistently to specification and pre-determined costs at suppliers and in BAC assembly processes. Responsible for managing quality between engineering, suppliers and manufacturing.

Tasks/ Responsibilities

  • Solve quality issues and coordinate with suppliers, engineering and manufacturing
  • Ensure manufacturing of parts, components and systems are consistent to specifications
  • Plan, implement, coordinate and direct quality control and assurance programs
  • Formulate and achieve quality control objectives and standards
  • Define, implement and perform QA Audits and check control procedures
  • Define adequate measures to maximise product reliability and minimise 'cost of quality'
  • Evaluate and establish quality systems such as ISO 9001 or ISO/TS16949 etc.
  • Implement Failure Mode & Effects Analysis
  • Plan and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability
  • Investigating and adjusting customer complaints regarding quality
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation and records
  • Adhere to all applicable health and safety as operational procedures and directives
  • Support other functions such as Purchasing etc. as required

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Degree holder in engineering, quality management or related disciplines
  • Min. of 5 Years experience in Quality Management in manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Automotive Industry, Premium or Performance Car Sector preferred
  • Widespread knowledge in vehicle components, technologies, systems such as engines, gearboxes, suspensions, automotive fluid systems, electrical and electronic systems
  • Knowledge of common assembly, testing and quality assurance practices
  • Experience in troubleshooting, FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) and 8D Reports
  • Accreditation in ISO 90001 and/ or other Quality Management Systems preferred
  • Knowledge in implementing Quality Cost Model (Prevention/ Appraisal/ Failure Costs)
  • Experience and substantial knowledge in Health & Safety
  • Self motivated with excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
